2 injured in firing inside cashew orchard in Odisha’s Ganjam

Bhubaneswar: Two persons were critically injured in a firing incident in Odisha’s Ganjam district today.

The incident took place in cashew orchard near Polasara in Ganjam. The injured have been identified as Abakash Jani and Raghunath Jani.

Some unidentified persons reportedly opened fire at the duo while they were plucking cashew apples in the morning.

One among them sustained bullet injuries on his head while the other on received injuries on his leg. The attackers left the place soon after the incident.

The locals rescued the injured duo and rushed them to a nearby hospital.

On being informed, Buguda police reached the spot and launched a probe into the incident.

However, the cops are yet to identify the miscreants and find out the reason behind the attack.
