2 teachers from Odisha selected for national awards

Bhubaneswar: Two teachers from Odisha have been selected for the National Awards to Teachers 2023, provided by the Department of School Education and Literacy under the Union Ministry of Education.

Sashi Sekhar Kar Sharma of Kenduapada Nodal High School in Bhadrak district and Subhash Chandra Rout of Brundaban Government High School in Jagatsinghpur district have been selected for the prestigious awards.

Altogether 50 teachers from across the country will be felicitated with the awards by President Droupadi Murmu at a ceremony at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi on September 5.

Each teacher will be felicitated with a certificate of merit, a cash award of Rs 50,000 and a silver medal.

The two teachers from Odisha have been selected for the awards for their innovative concepts of teaching and efforts to reduce school dropouts, sources said.
