Bhubaneswar: Senior BJP leader and Union Home Minister Amit Shah is all set to hit the campaign trail for the upcoming Lok Sabha and Assembly polls in Odisha on April 25 (Thursday).

Shah will address a public meeting at Sonepur in western Odisha as part of Bharatiya Janata Party’s campaign for the twin polls.

The Union Home Minister will arrive at Veer Surendra Sai Airport at Jharsuguda from Hyderabad at 3.45 pm and travel to Sonepur in a chopper.

Shah will address the public meeting at Rameswaram Stadium at Sonepur at 4.35 pm.

“All arrangements in place for Home Minister Amit Shah’s public meeting at Sonepur on April 25. BJD supremo and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik is fighting the Assembly polls from a seat in Western Odisha. So, the Union Minister has chosen Sonepur as the venue of his public meeting to counter the BJD,” said BJP Odisha unit vice-president Golak Mahapatra in a presser today.

The Biju Janata Dal (BJD) government has failed to provide basic facilities to the people of Odisha. The people have already made up their mind to change the government in the state in 2024 polls, Mahapatra added.

After the public meeting at Sonepur, the Union Home Minister will arrive in the capital city here via Jharsuguda for the night stay.

Shah is likely to meet senior BJP leaders here tomorrow evening to discuss about part’s strategy for the ensuing polls.
