Bhubaneswar: Unidentified miscreants looted ornaments and cash from a jewellery store at Odisha’s Puri town after they opened fire at its owner and employees yesterday.

The owner of the jewellery store and his son sustained injuries in the incident, sources said.

According to sources, four miscreants reached S.R Jewellers at Red Cross Road in Puri yesterday evening. They opened fire at the employees of the store and attacked the owner and his son with sharp weapons. They vanished from the scene after looting ornaments (both gold and silver) and cash from the shop, sources added.

On being informed, Kumbharpada police reached the spot and launched a probe into the incident.
