Bhubaneswar: The Reserve Bank of India is taking measures in the state, in a bid to make banking services operative and accessible to cyclone victims in Odisha.

Banks have been directed to extend their functional hours for two additional hours i.e. from 4 pm to 6 pm on working days in cyclone-hit districts of the state.

Similarly, mobile ATMs and additional POS machines will also be made available in rural areas. Even though only 50% ATMs are presently operational, they have been stocked with adequate cash, informed RBI Regional Director Mahesh Mall.

In spite of power outage and lack of telecom services, banks in Odisha are aiming to make their branch offices functional to combat monetary woes in the state, as per reports.
