Berhampur: Hours before the commencement of counting of votes in Odisha, Aska MLA candidate of Congress, Manoj Kumar Jena was shot at by unidentified miscreants at Oxford School Chhak near Lanjipalli here in Ganjam district today.

According to reports, four bike-borne miscreants opened fire at Jena this evening leaving him grievously injured.

He was rescued in a critical condition and admitted to the MKCG Medical College and Hospital here.

Jena's associate also sustained bullet injuries in the attack and was hospitalised. The incident was a fallout of past enmity, reports said.
