Bhubaneswar: The Commissionerate Police in the Odisha capital here has registered a case against an Assistant Commandant over the alleged misbehaviour towards a woman employee.

The Mancheswar police in the capital city registered a case against Assistant Commandant of Police Deepak Kumar Nayak and launched a probe into the incident on the basis of a complaint lodged by the victim.

As per the complaint, Nayak was allegedly misbehaving with the victim, a housekeeping employee at the Odisha Emergency Response Support System (ERSS), for last several days.

The woman employee had lodged a police complaint on August 3 and sought action against the accused Assistant Commandant.

Nayak, however, refuted the allegations and urged the police to bring the truth to the fore.

“All these allegations are baseless. I hope that the police investigation will reveal the truth,” he said.
