Bhubaneswar: A man was hacked to death over past enmity in the Odisha capital here on Friday.
The incident took place in the Old Town area of the city. The deceased has been identified as Jitendra Kandi of Bharatimathasahi under Lingaraj police limits.
The cops have arrested two persons in connection with the incident and produced them in a local court.
As per reports, Kandi was found dead with multiple deep cuts on his body at Garage Square in the morning.
The cops registered a case on the basis of a complaint lodged by the deceased’s family and launched a probe.
The police subsequently arrested Biswanath Behera (24) of Gayatribasti and Subham Das (19) of Basisthanagar, Canal Road, for their involvement in the murder.
During investigation, the two accused confessed to the crime, said the police.
“Investigation revealed that the murder was the result of previous personal grudge coupled with a quarrel under the influence of alcohol. Scientific evidence was collected with the assistance of the DFSL team. Two sharp weapons were seized from the accused persons,” said a police officer.
