Boipariguda (Koraput): A woman today lodged a police complaint at Boipariguda police station, alleging her daughter was murdered by her husband and the body was staged to appear as a suicide.

According to the complainant, Manjula Naik, her daughter Barsha was killed by her son-in-law, Dukhishyam Takri, who then allegedly hung her body from the ceiling using a cloth.

Manjula stated Barsha had left home in September 2023 and later married Dukhishyam in a love marriage. She further alleged Barsha had informed her just four days ago that she was being beaten by her husband and his family members.

Following the complaint, the Boipariguda police registered a case and launched an investigation. However, no arrests or detentions had been made at the time of filing this report.
