Odisha Sun Times Bureau
Bhubaneswar, July 16:

District Child Welfare Committee (CWC) has served notice to a Mumbai-based producer of sports biopic “Budhia Singh-Born to Run” in connection with the ‘missing’ of the boy marathon runner Budhia Singh from the sports hostel in Odisha capital.

“We have sent notice to a producer of the movie asking him to reply within three days whether Budhia Singh is with him or not. If yes, then on what basis he has taken him to Mumbai with whose permission,” CWC member, Benudhar Senapati said.

Besides, the Committee has filed a complaint with the Nayapalli police here to trace the whereabouts of the long distance runner.

It may be mentioned here that Budhia has not reported to the sports hostel after the summer break raising many questions over his disappearance.

While it was reported in the media that Budhia and his mother Sukanti have gone to Mumbai, it is speculated that the duo is in the Maximum City to promote the movie scheduled to hit the screens on August 5.

Following this, the hostel authorities had submitted the report yesterday.
