Double murder: 2 brothers killed during group clash over eve-teasing in Odisha

Sambalpur: A double murder rocked Odisha's Sambalpur district as two brothers were killed during a group clash over eve-teasing at Bhandarimal village under Jujumara police limits, last evening.

The deceased have been identified as Shakti Bhushan Kumra (35) and his brother Aravind Kumra (25). Three others, including a brother of the deceased duo, sustained critical injuries in the incident.

According to reports, some youths of the village had passed lewd remarks at a girl, who is a relative of the deceased and victims. The three brothers and kin of the girl confronted the youths over the matter, following which a clash ensued between the two groups.

The youths attacked the girl's kin with sharp weapons and murdered two of them besides severing legs of the victims, who have been admitted to VIMSAR in Burla.

Police have started investigation into the incident and detained a person for questioning, said Sambalpur SP Kanwar Vishal Singh.
