Bhubaneswar: The state government has initiated action against two primary school teachers for submitting fake educational certificates at the time of their appointment in Odisha’s Bargarh district.

The accused teachers have been identified as Taranisen Seth, assistant teacher at Bhutali Primary School, and Mangala Biswal, assistant teacher at Kandapala Primary School, under Ambabhona block in Bargarh district.

Both Taranisen and Mangala had joined service in 2005. However, the authorities of School and Mass Education (S&ME) Department recently found that the duo had submitted fake educational certificates at the time of their appointment.

The police had registered a case against the two teachers after the Block Education Officer (BEO) of Ambabhona lodged an FIR in this regard some days ago.

The two teachers had absconded and approached a local court for anticipatory bail. However, the duo surrendered before the court after their bail pleas were rejected.

The accused teachers have been sent to judicial custody after their bail pleas were rejected by the court, said an official of Ambabhona police.
