Healthcare services at Balasore DHH, FMMCH hit as nurses cease work

Balasore:  Healthcare services at Fakir Mohan Medical College and Hospital (FMMCH) and district headquarters hospital (DHH) here has been disrupted after nurses of both the medical institutions resorted to a cease-work agitation pressing for fulfillment of various demands.

As part of the protest, the nurses staged a demonstration outside the office of the Chief District Medical Officer (CDMO) and submitted a memorandum.

The agitators alleged that it has been four days since the attendants of a pregnant woman had assaulted a nurse at FMMCH, but no arrest has been made in this regard till yet. Besides, some anti-socials are frequenting to the hospital under the patronage of a few influential persons. The protesters demanded appropriate action against any kind of vandalism in the hospitals.

Meanwhile, the district Collector has asked the agitating nurses to call off their stir immediately or else action would be taken against them.
