IMD predicts heavy rainfall in these Odisha districts till July 7; issues Yellow alert

Bhubaneswar: With South West Monsoon remaining active in Odisha, India Meteorological Department (IMD) regional centre today forecasted that heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over some districts of the State during the next five days.

In its mid-day bulletin, the IMD said, “Cyclonic circulation over north Bangladesh and neighbourhood now lies over Bangladesh between 1.5 and 7.6 Km above mean sea level tilting southwards with height. However, the cyclonic circulation over east Bihar and neighbourhood between 4.5 and 5.8 Km above mean sea level has become less marked.”

The highest maximum (day) temperature of 36.0°C was recorded yesterday at Nuapada and the lowest minimum (night) temperature of 22.0°C was recorded at Angul in the plains of Odisha.

For Wednesday (Valid up to 0830 hrs IST of 04.07.2024)

Light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at many places over the districts of Odisha.

Yellow Warning: (Be Updated)-

Heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul, and Keonjhar.

For Thursday (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 04.07.2024to 0830 hrs IST of 05.07.2024)

Light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at many places over the districts of Odisha.

Yellow Warning: (Be Updated)-

Heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, and Bargarh.
