IPL betting racket busted in Odisha's Rourkela, three held

Rourkela: Police arrested three persons here in Odisha's Steel city Rourkela for allegedly betting on ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) cricket matches.

A special team of police conducted raid at Narla area on Saturday to bust the IPL racket. Police seized Rs 10 lakh cash along with three laptops, 33 mobile phones and electronic gadgets used for betting from the spot during the raid.

The accused were identified as Musad Alam, Md. Parvez and Uttam Shah.

However, nine others in the racket managed to flee the spot during the raid.

Earlier, police had busted the IPL betting racket on April 29 in Sambalpur with arrest of six persons.

Police sources said that a particular gang is linked in betting operations across the State.
