Know the Ratha Jatra schedule of Lord Jagannath in Odisha

Puri: Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) decided the rituals of world famous Ratha Jatra scheduled on July 14 in Puri.

The timings of rituals were decided at Chhatisha Nijog meeting chaired by newly appointed SJTA Chief Administrator Pradipta Kumar Mohapatra on Sunday in Puri.

After holding discussion with the Chhatisa Nijog officials, the temple administration approved the timings of rituals finalised at the meeting for smooth conduct of Ratha Jatra of Lord Jagannath, who will make his visit to Gundicha Temple with siblings Lord Balabhadra and Devi Subhadra.

Here are the timings of various rituals to be conducted for Ratha Jatra-2018

Mangala Alati : 6.00 am
Mailam : 6.10 am
Tadaplagi and Roshahoma : 6.30 am
Abakash : 7.00 am
Surjya Puja : 7.10 am
Dwarapal puja and Besha : 7.30 am
Gopal Ballav and Sakala Dhupa (khichdi prasad) : between 8.00 am and 9.00 am
Chariot pratistha : 9.00 am
Mangalarpan : 9.15 am
Pahandi Bije of deities : 9.30 am

The pahandi bije of Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra and Devi Subhadra will end at around 12.30 pm. Later, lord Madan Mohan will ride the chariot between 1.00 pm.

Chitalagi ritual : from 1.00 pm to 2.00 pm
Chhera Pahanra ritual : between 2.00 pm and 3.00 pm
Other rituals : between 3.00 pm and 4.00 pm
Chariot pulling : 4.00 pm
