Bhadrak: The flood situation in Odisha’s Bhadrak district has turned serious as the water levels of the Baitarani and Salandi rivers are flowing above their respective danger marks, raising concerns of further inundation in several areas.
At Akhuapada, the Baitarani river was flowing at 18.74 metres, against the danger mark of 18.33 metres. The rising floodwater has affected Bhandaripokhari, Dhamnagar, Tihidi and Chandbali blocks in the district.
The situation is also critical along the Salandi river. At Rajghat, the river was flowing at 19.50 feet, well above its danger mark of 17 feet.
