Bhubaneswar: As part of its ongoing probe into the alleged Sub-Inspector (SI) recruitment exam scam, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Monday raided an online examination centre in Bhubaneswar.

A 20-member CBI team conducted an extensive search operation at the Techno School campus. Absconding accused Gobinda Tripathy is reportedly linked to the examination centre.

The involvement of the Techno School exam centre came to light during the interrogation of 114 candidates arrested in connection with the scam. The raid was aimed at collecting crucial evidence and documents. Investigators scrutinised registers and other important records at the premises as part of the ongoing probe.

Preliminary investigations have revealed candidates were allegedly charged around ₹15 lakh each to manipulate the examination process. Their roll numbers were reportedly rescheduled, enabling selected candidates to appear at designated centres where arrangements had been made to facilitate unfair practices.

Sources said special arrangements were made for select candidates at the Techno School examination centre.

The agency has already filed a chargesheet in a CBI court against 17 arrested accused, including Shankar Prusty, Muna Mohanty, and Suresh Nayak.

Officials said more details are likely to emerge as the investigation progresses.
