Bhubaneswar: Reaffirming the Odisha government's zero-tolerance policy against corruption, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has dismissed former Bhubaneswar Additional Tahsildar Chittarajan Pilla from government service over alleged irregularities in official decisions related to land matters.

According to an official statement issued by the Chief Minister's Office on Saturday, Pilla had earlier served as Additional Tahsildar in Bhubaneswar and was later posted as Deputy Collector in Jagatsinghpur.

Departmental probe finds irregularities in land-related decisions

The action follows departmental inquiries conducted by senior revenue officials into several land-related decisions taken by Pilla during his tenure in Bhubaneswar. The investigations reportedly uncovered multiple irregularities in the handling of land cases and administrative decisions.

Based on the findings of the inquiry, Chief Minister Majhi approved Pilla's dismissal from government service.

The state government said the move reflects its commitment to maintaining transparency and accountability in public administration and sends a strong message against corruption and misconduct in government offices.

The Chief Minister has repeatedly stressed that no corrupt official will be spared and has directed departments to strictly enforce the government's zero-tolerance policy against corruption.

The latest action is being viewed as part of the Odisha government's broader efforts to strengthen administrative accountability and ensure strict action against officials found guilty of irregularities or abuse of power.
