Balangir: In a gesture reflecting sensitivity and compassion in the justice system, a judge at the Tushura JMFC Court in Balangir district stepped outside the courtroom to record the statement of a man suffering from paralysis who was unable to enter the court premises.

The incident took place in connection with a 2023 case involving Bhushab Sahu of Atgaon under Tushura police station. Sahu had been summoned to appear before the JMFC court in connection with the case.

Sahu reached the court at the scheduled time but, owing to his health condition, remained inside an auto-rickshaw parked outside the courtroom instead of entering the court.

After being informed about the situation through his lawyer, JMFC Judge Habibur Rahman Siddiqui came out of the courtroom and went to the auto-rickshaw.

The judge then recorded Sahu’s statement while standing outside the courtroom near the vehicle, allowing him to participate in the proceedings without having to enter the court.

The gesture was appreciated by those present at the court premises and was seen as an example of sensitivity and accessibility in the justice delivery system.

The Tushura Bar Association also praised the judge for his considerate approach towards the ailing man.
