Jharsuguda: A 25-year-old man was allegedly murdered by unidentified miscreants while he was sleeping on the veranda of his house in Lalumunda village under Lakhanpur police limits in Odisha’s Jharsuguda district.

The deceased has been identified as Pradeep Bhoi. According to reports, the incident took place late on Tuesday night when Pradeep was asleep outside his house. Unknown assailants allegedly attacked him with a sharp weapon and slit his throat before fleeing the spot.

After receiving information, the police reached the scene and launched an investigation. A scientific team and dog squad were also deployed to assist in the probe.

Police are yet to ascertain the motive behind the murder. Further investigation is underway.
