Bhubaneswar: The Naba Nirman Krushak Sangathan has called for an Odisha bandh on September 30, demanding action over errors in school textbooks and the resignation of the School and Mass Education Minister.
The announcement was made by the organisation's national coordinator Akshay Kumar.
The farmers' organisation has raised concerns over the errors in textbooks for Classes I to VIII. It has held the School and Mass Education Department and the minister responsible for the issue.
The organisation has urged people across the state to support the bandh.
Worth mentioning, a controversy had erupted earlier this year after over 1,600 errors were detected in the newly published school textbooks. The issue sparked widespread criticism from Opposition parties, educationists and other stakeholders, raising serious concerns over the quality of educational material supplied to students across the state.
