Odisha CM lays foundation for Rs 1,581-crore Barbil ring road

Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi today laid foundation stone for Barbil bypass ring road in Odisha’s Keonjhar district.

The state government will construct the 18.326 km road with an investment of Rs 1,581.21 crore.

“The proposed bypass ring road will play a major role in easing traffic congestion at Barbil town and giving fillip to economic development in Keonjhar district. The project is likely to facilitate the expansion of Barbil town,” said the Chief Minister.

The Chief Minister also inaugurated and laid foundation stones for 75 development projects worth around Rs 355 crore in Keonjhar.

Majhi inaugurated altogether 24 projects worth over Rs 29 crore and laid foundation stones for 51 others, to be executed with total investment of over Rs 326 crore.  

On the occasion, Majhi reiterated the state government’s commitment for the establishment of a mega steel plant in Keonjhar, a mineral-rich district in Odisha.

“The state government is taking steps for the establishment of a mega steel plant in Keonjhar. Besides, efforts are underway to expedite the eight-laning of Barbil-Paradip road. These two projects will boost industrialization and job creation in Keonjhar,” stated Majhi.

The Chief Minister sought people’s cooperation for a prosperous Keonjhar as well as Odisha.
