Bhubaneswar: In a reshuffle of IPS officers, the Odisha Government today appointed Dr Saravana Vivek M as Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), Bhubaneswar. He will replace Jagmohan Meena, who is to be relieved.

Meena had resigned as the Bhubaneswar DCP citing personal reasons.

Vivek M, a 2015-batch IPS officer, is currently serving as the Superintendent of Police (SP), Brahmapur.

According to a notification issued by the Home Department, Abhinav Sonkar has been appointed as the new SP of Brahmapur. Sonkar, a 2019-batch IPS officer, is currently serving as the SP of Dhenkanal.

The government has also posted 2021-batch IPS officer A.B. Silpa as SDPO, Bargarh. She is currently serving as Assistant SP at the State Police Headquarters.

Meanwhile, 2022-batch IPS officer Mane Ajinkya Baburao has been appointed as SP, Dhenkanal. He is currently serving as Additional SP, Paradeep.

The transfers and postings have been made by order of the Governor, according to the notification.
