Bhubaneswar: The authorities of Fakir Mohan (FM) Autonomous College in Odisha’s Balasore have ordered a probe against a senior faculty member on the basis of a complaint lodged by a girl student of the institute.

The Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) of the college has been asked to probe the allegations levelled against Odia department head (HoD) Santosh Kumar Nayak and submit a report at the earliest.

The college authorities have removed Nayak from the post of Odia department HoD to facilitate an impartial probe.

As per reports, the girl had lodged a complaint against Nayak on April 6 this year. Taking the issue seriously, the Regional Director of Education visited the college and held discussions with the Principal.

Subsequently, Nayak was removed from the post of Odia department HoD and the ICC was asked to probe the allegations levelled against him.

The college authorities have also informed details about the allegations and subsequent action to the Higher Education Department.

The department will take appropriate action on the basis of the probe report.
