Bhubaneswar: Odisha is set to take another step towards strengthening its industrial sector, with Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi scheduled to inaugurate industrial projects and lay foundation stones for new ventures at a mega groundbreaking and inauguration ceremony in Kalinganagar, Jajpur district, tomorrow on October 14.
The 46 projects scheduled for groundbreaking and inauguration represent a combined investment of Rs 39,383 crore and are expected to generate employment opportunities for 42,512 people, according to the state government.
The ceremony will also feature roundtable discussions and one-on-one interactions with industry representatives to facilitate project implementation, address investors’ concerns and explore opportunities for further industrial expansion in Odisha.

The upcoming ceremony follows the state’s investment promotion efforts after the Utkarsh Odisha–Make in Odisha Conclave 2025 and subsequent investor outreach initiatives across India and abroad.
The government is now focusing on translating investment commitments into operational industrial facilities, employment opportunities and improved livelihoods.
Projects across 14 districts
The 46 projects cover a diverse range of sectors, including steel and metals, chemicals, renewable energy, food processing, biofuels, textiles and apparel, electronics and IT services, logistics and warehousing, tourism and hospitality, industrial gases, infrastructure, rubber and plastics, shipbuilding and ship repair, power storage, refractories, circular economy and healthcare.
The projects are spread across 14 districts: Anugola, Baragada, Baleshwar, Boudh, Kataka, Dhenkanal, Jajpur, Jagatsinghpur, Kendujhar, Khordha, Mayurbhanj, Puri, Sambalpur and Sundargada.
According to the government, the investments are expected to strengthen the state’s manufacturing ecosystem, promote value addition and create opportunities for local suppliers, micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) and entrepreneurs.
Apart from direct industrial employment, the projects could generate additional jobs in construction, transportation, logistics and allied services, benefiting skilled and semi-skilled workers and local communities.
Focus on investment implementation
Industries Minister Sampad Chandra Swain said the government’s focus extended beyond attracting investments to ensuring that they translated into projects on the ground, employment opportunities and improved livelihoods.
Through continued engagement with investors and effective project facilitation, the government is working to strengthen Odisha’s industrial ecosystem and ensure that the benefits of economic growth reach people, he said.
Hemant Sharma, Additional Chief Secretary of the Industries, Home and Information & Public Relations departments, said the success of investment promotion depended on implementation.
The government is working to facilitate projects, address investor requirements and improve coordination so that investments contribute to industrial capacity, employment and local economic development, he added.
The October 14 event is expected to reinforce Odisha’s efforts to diversify its industrial base and attract investments across multiple sectors. The state government aims to ensure that industrial expansion supports employment generation, strengthens local enterprises and contributes to its vision of Samruddha Odisha by 2036.
