Bhubaneswar: The Rasgovindpur Airstrip in Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district will be developed into an airport, Transport Minister Bibhuti Bhushan Jena informed the Odisha Assembly today.

Responding to a question in the Assembly, Jena said the Central Government has already approved the proposal for developing the Rasgovindpur Airstrip into an airport.

He further said that a provision has been made in the current state budget for the development and upgradation of the airstrip.

The minister added that the Odisha government is in communication with the Central Government regarding the project and is taking necessary steps for its development.
