Bhubaneswar: The Mahanadi Water Disputes Tribunal today postponed its hearing on Mahandi water dispute between Odisha and Chhattisgarh to July 13.

The tribunal postponed the hearing that was scheduled for today after both the states sought four weeks of time as they failed to convene the third coordination meeting due to cyclone FANI that hit Odisha coast on May 3.

On March 30, the tribunal while hearing the interim petition of Odisha had directed both Governments to hold another round of talks to resolve the Mahanadi water sharing dispute amicably. The tribunal had deferred its verdict to May 11.
