Man stuck inside pumping station pipe in Odisha rescued after 6 hrs

Cuttack: An elderly man engaged in cleaning a pipe of a pumping station near Tulsipur Police Colony in Odisha's Cuttack got stuck inside the pipe today and was rescued by Fire personnel and ODRAF team after a six-hour long effort.

According to reports, Pranakrushna Muduli of Deula Sahi here got pushed inside the pipe for about 25 feet with water flow after a staff of the pumping station switched on the pump accidentally while he was inside the pipe having a width of 2.5 feet.

On being informed about the mishap, Fire personnel and ODRAF team rushed to the spot and initiated rescued operation which continued for around six hours amid scorching heat wave.

Muduli was eventually rescued from the pipe and admitted to the SCB Medical College and Hospital for treatment.
