Bhubaneswar: Several domestic and international flight services from the Biju Patnaik International Airport in Bhubaneswar have been suspended for the summer schedule, impacting connectivity to key destinations including Dubai and Singapore.
Airport Director Prasanna Pradhan said the decision was taken due to a range of operational constraints. As part of the changes, direct flights to Indian cities such as Indore, Dehradun and Kochi have been discontinued.
On the international front, the suspension of flights to Dubai and Singapore has narrowed overseas connectivity from the airport. Currently, Bangkok remains the only international destination with direct flight services from Bhubaneswar.
Pradhan noted that the summer season is typically considered an off-season for airlines, leading some carriers to withdraw or scale down operations from the airport.
However, flight services to major domestic hubs like New Delhi, Bengaluru, Chennai, Kolkata, Hyderabad and Mumbai will continue as usual.
Regional connectivity to Jharsuguda and Rourkela will also remain unaffected.
The summer schedule will remain in effect until October.
