Bhubaneswar: The first day of the State-Level Kabaddi Tournament at TSG Front Field, Gothapatana, Bhubaneswar, concluded successfully with great enthusiasm and active participation from teams across Odisha. A total of 25 teams from different districts of the state participated in the tournament, making the event highly competitive and vibrant.
The grand opening ceremony was held on 20th April at 4:00 PM in the presence of eminent guests and sports personalities. Young players were encouraged for sportsmanship spirit and discipline.
Jayashree Swain, the first International Kabaddi Player and Joint Secretary of AKFI, graced the occasion as the Guest of Honour and inspired the participants with her valuable words on dedication and perseverance in sports. Dr. Sarada Prasad Mishra, Chairman of TSG, also addressed the gathering and highlighted the importance of traditional sports like Kabaddi in building strength, unity, and confidence among youth.
The event was successfully coordinated under the leadership of Chinmaya Mohanty, Organising Secretary and Ranjita Mohapatra, Principal, along with the support of the management, staff, and students of TSG.
The tournament will conclude on 21st April at 7:00 PM with a closing ceremony where senior politician and social worker Mr. Suresh Kumar Routray will attend as the Chief Guest, while senior BJP leader Golak Mohapatra will join as the Guest of Honour. Sports lovers and the general public have been invited to witness the final matches and the grand valedictory function.
