Bhubaneswar: The Biju Janata Dal (BJD) has arranged a customised vehicle for party president and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik to steer its campaign for the upcoming simultaneous Lok Sabha and Assembly polls in Odisha.

The air-conditioned vehicle has been fitted with mass address system and a hydraulic lift among other facilities.

Apart from BJD’s poll symbol, the customized vehicle displays the images of legendary leader Biju Patnaik, CM Naveen, 5T and Nabin Odisha chairman VK Pandian, and party’s general secretary (organization) Pranab Prakash Das prominently.

The vehicle also displays the 5T initiative of the state government as the BJD supremo’s guarantee for transformation of Odisha.

It is worth mentioning here that the BJD president today hit the campaign trail for the upcoming twin elections in the state.

The Chief Minister began his campaign by addressing two public meetings at Hinjili Assembly seat in Ganjam district. Notably, Patnaik is fighting the Assembly polls from Hinjili seat for the sixth time in a row.

The simultaneous Lok Sabha and Assembly polls in Odisha will be held in four phases on May 13, May 20, May 25 and June 1.

The counting of votes will be done on June 4.

It is worth mentioning here that the BJD president had campaigned for the party by riding a customized bus during the 2019 Lok Sabha and Assembly polls in Odisha.
