Bhubaneswar: A man allegedly hacked his son to death during a violent fight over some domestic issues in Odisha’s Bhadrak district today.

The deceased has been identified as Shankarshan Barik of Sunagadia village of Govindpur panchayat under Bant police limits in Bhadrak.

The accused also sustained grievous injuries in the incident.

An argument ensued between Shankarshan and his father over some domestic discords in the morning. Later, the father-son duo attacked each other with sharp weapons.

Shankarshan died in the violent clash while his father sustained grievous injuries.

The villagers rescued the accused and rushed him to Bhadrak District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) in a critical condition. The accused was later shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack after his condition deteriorated.

On being informed, the police reached the spot and launched a probe into the incident.
