Bhubaneswar: Starting from next academic session students of all government-run schools will be provided with free shoes and identity cards. The State government will take a decision in this regard soon, said School and Mass Education Minister Samir Ranjan Das today.

Earlier, students only from the Below Poverty Line (BPL) category were given shoes and school uniform.

The government-run schools have been providing uniform free of cost to their students till this academic session. But once implemented, the new decision will definitely benefit school students a lot and help increase attendance rate, said a student’s parent.
