Repolling in 34 booths across Odisha on May 19!

Bhubaneswar: Repolling in 34 booths at various places across the state is likely to be held on May 19, informed Odisha Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Surendra Kumar here today.

The CEO said repolling in 12 booths, where voting was held in third phase and 22 booths in fourth phase is likely to be held on May 19.

Kumar further said that training related to EVM, VVPAT slip and ballot paper counting of Master trainers is currently underway whereas Returning Officers will be trained on May 13 and 14. Besides, district-level training will be held between May 14 and 19. Counting of votes will be undertaken simultaneously at 5 booths in each constituency on May 23, he added.

Speaking about the effects of cyclone FANI on EVM and VVPAT machines, the CEO said, “EVMs have been kept in strongrooms across the state under tight security. Only the barricade outside a strongroom in Puri has been damaged.”
