Bhubaneswar: With the results of four-phase simultaneous election in Odisha all set to be declared on May 23, Sambad-Kanak News conducted an opinion poll to gauge the mood of the voters.

While results will be formally announced on Thursday, Exit Poll surveys can only be published or aired after getting go-ahead from Election Commission of India, after conclusion of polls.

Exit poll or opinion poll is a compilation of voters’ account immediately after casting vote.

In the four-part series, we now bring you the opinion from the southern part of the state.

As many as five parliamentarians and 35 legislators are contesting for elections in southern states of Odisha.

As per the survey, BJD is likely to win three MP seats and two seats will witness close contest with Congress clinching one seat for itself. In assembly segment, BJD is likely to win 15 seats followed by BJP with nine seats and close fight in seven segments. Congress and an independent candidate will bag three and one seat, separately.

NABARANGPUR

In Nabarangpur parliamentary constituency, exit poll suggests that Congress candidate Pradeep Majhi is winning the seat that was won by BJD candidate Balabhadra Majhi in 2014.

DABUGAM: Bhujabal Majhi (Congress)

KOTPAD: Padmini Dian (BJD)

CHITRAKONDA: Laxmipriya Nayak (Congress)

ASKA

As per the survey, BJD’s Pramila Bisoyi is set to win against BJP's Anita Priyadarshini and CPI's Ramakrishna Panda.

POLASARA: Srikant Sahu (BJD)

KABISURJYANAGAR: Latika Pradhan (BJD)

KHALLIKOTE: Bharati Behera (BJP)

ASKA: Manjula Swain (BJD)

SURADA: Nilamani Bisoyi (BJP)

SANAKHEMUNDI: A close fight is on the cards between BJD's Nandini Devi and Congress' Ramesh Chandra Jena.

HINJILI: Naveen Patnaik (BJD)

BERHAMPUR  

BJD will retain its Lok Sabha seat with Chandrasekhar Sahu winning the contest. BJP and Congress have fielded Bhrugu Buxipatra and Chandrasekhar Naidu, respectively.

CHHATRAPUR: Close fight between BJD’s Subhas Chandra Behera and BJP’s Prashanta Kumar Kar

GOPALPUR: Three-cornered fight between Pradeep Panigrahi (BJD), S Dharamaraj Reddy (Congress) and Bibhuti Bhushan Jena (BJP).

BERHAMPUR: Bikram Panda (BJD)

DIGAPAHANDI: Surya Narayan Patro (BJD)

CHIKITI: Manoranjan Dyan Samantaray (BJP)

MOHANA: Dasarathi Gomango (Congress)

PARALAKHEMUNDI: Three-cornered fight between Kalyani Devi (BJD), K Surya Rao (Congress) and K Narayan Rao (BJP).

KORAPUT

BJD's Kausalya Hikaka and BJP's Jayaram Pangi will lock horns in a close fight for this Lok Sabha seat.

GUNUPUR: Raghunath Gomango (BJD)

BISSAM CUTTACK: Jagannath Saraka (BJD)

RAYAGADA: Independent candidate

LAXMIPUR: Prabhu Jani (BJD)

JEYPORE: Close fight between Rabi Narayan Nanda (BJD) and Taraprasad Bahinipati (Congress)

Kalahandi parliamentary seat is going to be won by BJD's Rajya Sabha Member Achyuta Samanta.
