Bhubaneswar: The timing of classes at schools in Khurda district has been rescheduled in view of the prevailing intense heatwave situation in Odisha.

Khurda district Collector Chanchal Rana has rescheduled the school timing on the basis of the IMD report on the prevailing heatwave situation in the state.

As per the new timing, the classes for students from Class I to Class XII in all government, government aided and privately managed schools will be held from 6.30 am to 10.30 am until further orders, said an order issued by the Khurda district Collector today.

Similarly, all Anganwadi centres in Khurda district will remain open from 6.30 am to 10.30 am untill further orders.

The state government had earlier announced that the classes for students from Class I to Class XII in all schools in Odisha will be held from 7 am to 11.30 am from April 2.

However, the S&ME department had authorized the district Collectors to modify the school timing on the basis of the weather situation.
