Sriballav & Sunanda Panigrahi Foundation arranges free Spoken English classes for girls

Bhubaneswar: The valedictory ceremony of Sunanda Panigrahi Memorial Spoken English classes, organized under the aegis of Sriballav and Sunanda Panigrahi Foundation, took place at Government Women’s College in Sambalpur today.

These ‘free-of-charge’ Spoken English classes had been inaugurated on August 17 this year. The classes were organised in association with the ‘Mo College’ initiative of the state government.

At least 40 students were included in each batch for the Spoken English classes. The main objective of the Spoken English classes was to improve the communicative skills of the students.

IIM Sambalpur Director Prof Mahadeo Jaiswal graced the valedictory ceremony as chief guest and distributed the course completion certificates to the successful students.

Prof Jaiswal emphasized upon the importance of Spoken English in the corporate world and thanked Sriballav and Sunanda Panigrahi Foundation for organizing such a novel programme for the benefit of the students.

Government Women’s College, Sambalpur, Principal Prof Rajashree Baral, in her welcome address, said, “I was thrilled at the response these classes got from the students.” She also thanked the foundation for the initiative.

Eminent Journalists Subhash Chandra Panigrahi and Siba Sankar Nanda, Spoken English course director Prof Kamdeba Sahu, retired Vice Principal GM College Sambalpur, and many eminent people of Sambalpur including lawyers, doctors and educationists attended the ceremony. Mo College Coordinator Jogesh Chandra Bhoi coordinated the programme.

Trustees of the foundation, prominent Dubai based Non Resident Indians Priyadarshee Panigrahi (Managing Trustee) and Senior Investment Banker Rajarshi Panigrahi, were present on the occasion.

Sriballav and Sunanda Panigrahi Trust was formed in 2021 in the memory of prominent Odisha leader, Minister and Member of Parliament, Late Sriballav Panigrahi and his educationist wife Sunanda Panigrahi. Sriballav & Sunanda Panigrahi Foundation strives hard to promote probity in public life, good governance and empowerment of the marginalized and deprived sections of the society through proper education.
