Transgender BSP poll candidate from Odisha clears Matric exam

Jajpur: Kajal Nayak, the first transgender candidate to contest polls in Odisha, has successfully cleared the annual High School Certificate (HSC) examination conducted by Board of Secondary Examination (BSE), results of which were declared today.

The 27-year-old transgender woman, popularly known as Kajal Kinnar, had appeared the annual exam in March this year.

Notably, Kajal is contesting from Korei assembly constituency on a Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) ticket.

She is a social worker and the president of Transgender Association of Jajpur.

While Kajal has cleared one of the toughest exam before moving on to college, it remains to be seen whether she manages to win the electoral test, results of which will be declared two days after.
