Veteran Odisha actress Anita Das passes away

Cuttack: In a sad news for Odia cine lovers, veteran Ollywood and television serial actress Anita Das passed away today around 11.30 am. She was 67.

Das died of cardiac arrest at her residence near Shelter Chhak here, reports said.

Born on October 1, 1951, Anita Das made her feature film debut with Jajabara in 1975 and appeared in over a hundred movies, mostly in supporting roles.

She was popular for portraying 'mother' characters in many of her films.

Her other notable performances were in the films Krishna Sudama (1976), Ramayan (1980), Swapna Sagara (1983), Gadhi Janile Ghara Sundara (1994), Maa-o-Mamata (1980), Pua Moro Kala Thakura (1988), Bahudibe Mo Jaga Balia (2003) and Ki Heba Sua Posile (1991).
