Woman dies due to delay in ambulance arrival in Odisha's Puri

Puri: In an unfortunate incident, a woman of Aingala village under Kakatpur block of Odisha's Puri district died due to alleged delay in arrival of an ambulance this morning.

According to reports, Krushna Barik, the deceased and wife of Jhatu Barik of the village, complained of stomach pain last night following which her kin telephoned 108-ambulance service around 1 am.

However, the ambulance reportedly reached the village around 5 am. The woman had died by the time the emergency service vehicle arrived.

Tension ran high at the village as irate locals detained the ambulance driver and its staff. On being informed, police reached the spot and rescued them after having discussion with the villagers.
