Cuttack: In a bizarre incident, three police officials have been detained on charges of looting a businessman of Rs 1.5 lakh near Nirgundi Toll Gate here last night.

The three cops are now being interrogated at Tangi police station.

As per reports, the trio in the guise of officials of Commissionerate Police intercepted a car for frisking near Nirgundi Toll Gate late last night. The car was heading to Puri from Kolkata. The three cops later looted the cash from the vehicle and fled the spot.

Acting on the victim’s complaint, the Tangi police detained the accused for interrogation. Meanwhile, Choudwar SDPO and Cuttack SP (Rural) visited the Tangi police station for an inquiry into the incident.
