Jagatsinghpur: There is no stopping to incidents of misbehaviour with women in Odisha as three youths allegedly attempted to rape a girl student of Class-X in Tirtol area of Jagatsinghpur district last evening.

According to reports, the incident took place while the girl was returning home after attending tuition classes. The accused trio intercepted her and forcibly took her to a secluded place.

The girl raised an alarm when the three tried to rape her. Hearing her screams for help, locals rushed to the spot. However, the accused had fled the place by that time.

Tirtol police have detained the three youths for questioning after a complaint was lodged in this regard by the family members of the girl.

Notably, a five-year-old girl was allegedly sexually abused by two minor boys (one of 9 years of age and another of 14 years) in Kantaballabhapur area under Sadar police limits of Odisha’s Jagatsinghpur district on April 26.
