Angul: A three-year-old girl accidentally fell into a borewell at Golasar village under Handapa police limits in Odisha's Angul district today.

On being informed, Fire personnel rushed to the spot and efforts were on to rescue the child.

The district administration has sought help from Odisha Disaster Rapid Action Force (ODRAF) as the former lacks proper equipments for such rescue operation, a official of the administration said.

According to reports, Radha, the minor girl and daughter of Santosh Sahu of the village, fell into the borewell while she was playing near it around 9.30 this morning.

Villagers initially tried to rescue her but in vain following which they informed the nearest Fire station about it.

The borewell was dug in the village for the purpose of drinking water supply. For some reasons, it wasn't used and left abandoned, reports added.
