Advertisement issued for recruitment of 7,540 teachers in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Staff Selection Commission (OSSC) today issued advertisement for recruitment of 7,540 teachers for 4,848 high schools in the state.

As per the advertisement, the OSSC will recruit 1,970 TGT Arts, 1,419 TGT Science (PCM), 1,205 TGT Science (CBZ), 1,352 Hindi, 723 Sanskrit, 24 Urdu and six Telugu teachers for the government high schools.

This apart, the commission will recruit 841 Physical Education Teachers (PETs), said the advertisement.

The selection process for teachers will consist of preliminary and main written examinations. Both the exams will be computer based with multiple choice questions, said the advertisement.

The question papers will be available in both Odia and English except the language papers. Candidates can submit online applications within December 11 and January 9, 2023, added the advertisement.

Syllabi for preliminary and main examinations have been included in the detailed advertisement, OSSC sources said.

The OSSC will share the marks obtained by the individual candidates after the publication of the final results, said an official.

Notably, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik had issued an order for recruitment of 7,540 teachers to the vacant posts in government high schools in Odisha.

Acting upon the direction of the Chief Minister, the School and Mass Education department had urged the OSSC to initiate process for the recruitment of teachers.

The state government had earlier recruited around 13,000 teachers for the government schools across Odisha in 2021-22 academic year.
