Bhubaneswar: Bhubaneswar MP Aparajita Sarangi has urged Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik to take steps towards identification of land free of cost for establishment of Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT) in the capital city.

In a letter to the CM, the newly-elected parliamentarian has mentioned about her meeting with Union Commerce & Industry Minister Piyush Goyal on July 3, during which she had requested the minister for setting up an IIFT in Bhubaneswar.

"Presence of an IIFT in Bhubaneswar is bound to give fillip to export initiatives from the state and is also likely to open up additional employment opportunities for young students from Odisha," she said in the letter.

"I would request you to kindly issue appropriate instructions for identification of around 5 acres of land in Bhubaneswar and infrastructure support of Rs 5 crore for expediting the whole process," she concluded.
