The Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) today revoked the suspension of the father-son Daitapati duo temporarily who were suspended for their alleged involvement in the Brahma Parivartan fiasco during the Nabakalebra festival last year in Odisha’s Puri.

The temple administration revoked the suspension imposed on Kashinath and Jayakrushna Das Mohapatra for a temporary period, SJTA sources said.

With this, the Das Mohapatras have been allowed to participate in the Lord Jagannath’s rituals.

Last month, Jayakrushna Das Mohapatra had written to the SJTA, Srimandir Management Committee chairman Gajapati Maharaj Divyasingh Deb, the Chief Secretary and the Law secretary seeking revocation of the suspension order on him and his father.

Jayakrushna had cited that they are being deprived of their basic rights of service to Lords, with the probe is yet to be completed.

On June 24 last year, SJTA had suspended the Daitapati duo for their inept handling of the affairs of Nabakalebara leading to an inordinate delay in the Brahma Parivartan ritual of the deities inside the Jagannath temple.

Besides, SJTA has also lifted the suspension on Artatrana Pratihari, a member of the Pratihari nijog, temporarily.

The priest was suspended for allegedly helping a woman devotee mount the chariot of Lord Jagannath before the ceremonial 'Pahandi' (procession) to Sri Gundicha Temple on June 21 last year.
