Bhubaneswar: A businessman had to part with Rs. 6 lakh as robbers decamped with the cash from a bus, near Baramunda bus stand in Odisha capital this afternoon.

The victim identified as Krushna Chandra Sahoo was on his way from Begunia to Cuttack.

Unidentified miscreants astride a black-coloured motorcycle snatched a bag containing Rs. 6 lakh from Sahoo on-board the bus and fled the scene.

Despite best efforts of the locals to apprehend them, the bike-borne miscreants got better of the chasers.

A complaint has been filed in Khandagiri police station owing which the police have initiated an investigation into the case, sources said.
