Nuapada: In a shocking incident, a youth ended his life by jumping under a moving truck here in the district yesterday.

The deceased was identified as Raju Sabar (40), a resident of Mahuabhata village under Nuapada NAC Ward No. 13.

The incident took place at around 4.15 pm on National Highway 353 in Nuapada town on Saturday. The entire suicide scene was caught on a CCTV camera installed in front of the Nuapada Police Station.

The CCTV footage showed that Raju crossed the road and waited for a heavy-duty vehicle. After seeing a truck (bearing the registration number AP 39 P 4579) enroute to Khariar Road, he jumped under vehicle and was crushed to death under rear wheels.

However, the reason of his suicide is yet to be ascertained.

The postmortem of his body will be conducted today, informed Nuapada Police Station IIC Aditya Mahakud.
