Bhubaneswar: The Indian Meteorological Department has predicted the likely formation of low pressure area over northeast   part of Bay of Bengal around Aug 4.

This low pressure will induce heavy rainfall spells in Odisha for the next 3-4 days, due to which yellow alert has been issued in some areas of the state between Aug 2 and Aug 4.

Parts of Koraput, Kalahandi, Malkangiri, Gajapati, Ganjam, Sundergarh, Mayurbhanj and Bargarh will witness heavy rain between Aug 2 and Aug 3.

Similarly, lashing rainfall is also likely in parts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Puri, Ganjam and Jagatsinghpur between Aug 3 and Aug 4.

Due to strong monsoon current, sea condition is likely to be rough to very rough along the Odisha coast and adjoining sea areas.
